Skills Assessment for Australian Skilled Migration
Applicants seeking General Skilled Migration visas must obtain a suitable skills assessment for their nominated occupation. To be invited to apply for these visas, your nominated occupation must appear on the relevant skilled occupation list associated with that visa subclass.
When submitting your visa application, it is essential to provide evidence of a valid skills assessment for your nominated occupation. This assessment must be obtained before you receive an invitation to apply; assessments acquired after the invitation will not be accepted.
To obtain a skills assessment, you will need to provide the following documentation:
- Academic certificates and transcripts.
- Employment reference letters from the last ten years.
- Payslips and bank statements evidencing receipt of pay.
- Records of tax payments made during your employment.
- Documentation of contributions to superannuation, provident funds, or old age pensions.
- Some skills assessment authorities may also require English test results.
