Subclass 309 Visa Checklist
For All Applicants:
- Identity Documents: Passport, birth certificate, and proof of any name changes (e.g., marriage or divorce certificates).
- Marital Status Proof: If married, widowed, divorced, or permanently separated, provide relevant certificates such as marriage, divorce, death, or separation documents, or statutory declarations.
- Overseas Police Certificates: Submit police clearance from every country (including your home country) where you spent 12 months or more in the last 10 years since turning 16. If you have served in the military, provide service records or discharge papers.
- Photographs: Passport-sized photos.
- Overseas Student Health Cover: All applicants must provide proof of health cover.
- Medical Examinations: Medical assessments are required.
- For Applicants Under 18: Copies of birth certificates or family books listing both parents, or adoption papers (if applicable).
For Primary Applicants:
- Marriage or De Facto Relationship Proof: If married, submit your marriage certificate or other evidence that your marriage is valid under Australian law. If in a de facto relationship for over a year, provide evidence of a ‘Genuine and Ongoing Relationship’ with your partner.
- Exemption from 12-Month Requirement: If you haven’t met the 12-month de facto requirement, provide written evidence explaining why, such as proof of registering your relationship with an Australian births, deaths, and marriages agency or details of compelling and compassionate circumstances.
